Somehow the stretches of one’s writing capabilities are for ever being tested with you Michell!
The task is treaky in that I have many favourites in the blogging arena. But I have a plan; the one whose latest story I meet with I go with.
It happens to be the Awl and Scribe blog in the piece about the storm, fascinating! The words are ‘outside‘ and ‘mirror ‘ hence the tittle : outside is the new mirror.
All I think of is the perfect analogy the two words are. Both are reflections. They are the first part one sees in an entity.confusing?
If I look into a mirror, I do not see what is inside of me but outside. So mirror and outside become the representative of this self, me.
But be not fooled, an exterior may shield or border the inside but never will it be the exact replica of the thing it surounds.
Outside, as I write, is a cloudy sky impregnated of heavy rains and the promise of a fruitful summer. I am a lover of rain and it’s storms, though scary they may sometimes be.
The sounds of thunder rambling also adds on to the promise of rain, not showers but rivers of rain and I wonder if I will survive the walk to work today.
I am temped to call in sick, but the thought of a whole day filled with boredom discourages me. It has been ages since I last ran in the rain, it should be a wonderful childhood memory to relieve.
Besides, I will have a great excuse to give for endulging in a feast on junk the entire day. My body will need all the warmth it can get after freezing outside.
